We’re thrilled each time we can share this gardening secret with new gardening friends: you can plant azaleas in your sunny garden spots, too. The trick is planting Encore Azaleas, instead of traditional shade-loving varieties.

The 33 varieties of Encore Azaleas can tolerate full sun and even bloom best in full sun or in part shade. High filtered shade or shifting shade — where dappled sunlight filters through high, thin branches like pine trees — is also a great exposure for Encore Azaleas.

Pro tip: For The most blooms, provide 4-6 hours of direct sunlight, with some shade during the afternoon heat.

Once you select your favorite Encore Azalea bloom color, we have lots of resources to help you learn how to properly locate your Encore Azaleas in your landscape so you will enjoy maximum performance and bloom production.
