Pair Edibles with Eye-Catching Encore® Azaleas

Pair Edibles with Eye-Catching Encore® Azaleas

Try containers with dwarf Encore Azaleas and herb or vegetable plants for a functional and beautiful solution to small garden spaces.

Short on garden space? Let your containers pull double duty.

Try combining sun-tolerant Encore® Azaleas with sun-loving vegetables and herbs to decorate porches and patios and serve as a mini kitchen garden. Variegated thyme or colorful sages look great cascading over the side of a container housing a dwarf Encore® Azalea.

You could try purple sage and dwarf Autumn Sunset®, or use lemon thyme (a natural mosquito repellent) and bi-color Autumn Sunburst®. Southern Living® Plant Collection's Chef's Choice® Rosemary is another fragrant edible that will complement any Encore® Azalea variety.

Plant your favorite dwarf Encore® variety in one container, and pair with a smaller container housing Chef's Choice® Rosemary and bold Purple Pixie® Weeping Loropetalum for a lovely, and useful, focal point in one of your outdoor spaces.

If you want more robust color and would like to try your hand at vegetables, pair a pepper or tomato with richly-hued dwarf Encores like Autumn Cheer® and Autumn Bonfire®.

"Encore Azalea is one of my favorite shrubs in landscape design. I love that it is hardy, low maintenance and above all, you can have a multitude of colors to choose from. My clients love them too. You won’t be disappointed."
