Keep The Bingeworthy Look All Year Long

Encore Azaleas bloom multiple times throughout the year. While they are relatively easy to take care of, there are a few things you can do to ensure that your Encore Azaleas thrive. Here are our tips and tricks:
  • Sunlight – Encore Azaleas bloom best with 4-6 hours of direct sunlight. Their ideal placement is in the morning light and afternoon shade with protection from the intense afternoon sun.
  • Soil – Encore Azaleas prefer well-drained, acidic soil with a pH in the range of 5.5-6.0. Lower your pH with sulfur and raise your pH with lime.
  • Watering – During the first few weeks after planting, Encore Azaleas need regular watering. Water deeply to ensure water reaches the roots of these blooming beauties.
  • Fertilizer – Once established and well mulched, azaleas need little to no additional fertilizer. If you spot poor growing or yellowing leaves, use an organic fertilizer like cottonseed meal, fishmeal, or blood meal for the best results. A balanced fertilizer designed for acid-loving plants works great too.
  • Pruning – Encore Azaleas require very little pruning to retain their binge-worthy blooms. If you think your Encore Azalea needs pruning, do so immediately after the spring flowering for the next maximum bud set. Light pruning of more established plants will stimulate growth and blooms.
With a little care, your Encore Azaleas will thrive and provide you with years of beauty. This is a series that you can binge-watch without feeling guilty! Get More Care Tips
